Same Kind of Different…

“The Word says God don’t give us credit for lovin the folks we want to love anyway. No, He gives us credit for loving the unlovable.”
― Denver Moore, Same Kind of Different as Me

1937-2012

If you have a box of  tissue and are ready to be touched, read The Same Kind of Different As Me this week.

Having grown up in rural Alabama in a house situated between cotton fields and having experienced segregation first hand, this book brought floods of memories along with shame to my mind. I had no idea just how cruel segregation really was while it was happening. It was just “how things were” to most of us. We often thought we were poor, but we were not poor at all compared to the poverty experienced by those who suffered from discrimination due to racial prejudice.

May God and all those Denver Moore’s in America forgive me and others who allowed this to go on whether by encouraging it or by simply remaining indifferent to it.

This true story of an amazing man truly shows the power and love of our Lord. May God continue to bless Denver Moore.
