Word for Today
“And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men!” Luke 2:12-14
The angel has just announced to the shepherds that a Savior, Christ the Lord has been born. Suddenly there is a host from heaven praising God. This had to be a marvelous sight this first Christmas.
A brief study of the host of heaven reveals that all the host of heaven worships Christ. Many on earth fall into idolatry when tempted to worship heaven’s host, but we are warned repeatedly not to worship the heavenly host.
Worship Christ, just as the host of heaven worshiped the baby in the manger on the first Christmas in Bethlehem.
He who builds His layers in the sky, and has founded His strata in the earth; Who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth— The LORD is His name. Amos 9:6
