I’m Glad I Know Who Jesus Is!

That First Christmas

And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. Luke 2:16-17

So shepherds became the first evangelist, the first Christian witnesses. If you have been made to doubt the truth of the story of the Christ child, consider the above verses.

Why would shepherds leave their fields, go into Bethlehem, and then make known the story of the birth of Christ?

They weren’t going to get  on national news in those days. There were no reality shows or Fox News. They did not get paid as full-time evangelist. What was their motivation?

I believe they knew who Jesus was.

Just Because It’s Christmas

Maybe this is the Christmas for you to come to know who Jesus is.

I was fortunate. I was raised in a family where the Bible was read and believed. By the time I was eighteen I had learned that there is power in the Word of God. Some people have never had a chance to discover this.

Christmas is a good time to come to know Him. He is more than a baby in a manger and Christmas is more than a story told long ago.

Jesus is more than just a man. He is the son of David and the Son of God. He is the promised Messiah and the King of Glory. He is the fulfillment of prophecy and the only obedient One, obedient even unto death.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
