Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. Exodus 18:21
The above is a part of the advice that Moses father-in-law, Jethro, gave to Moses when he was burdened with judging disputes of the people. Jethro described the type of men who should be chosen to judge: able men who fear God, men of truth who not only do not covet, but who hate covetousness…
Are not these the kind of judges we need today? In many instances, in America, the media has taken the role of judge and often of jury as well.
As Glenn Beck has said, “Truth has no agenda.”
Why do you think an assassination attempt that happened last September and was intended for Missouri Governor Jay Nixon was not reported by the “main-stream” media?
Could the reason for not reporting the incident be that the would-be assassin was a liberal left-wing radical who used a knife rather than a gun?
I suspect it is because there just isn’t much political mileage for Democrats in a report such as this, therefore those political activist who are disguised as journalist ignored the story.
We need journalist who report what happens, not activist who filter the news for political purposes.
I watched the movie, Dr. Zhivago, recently. When this movie first played I wasn’t too interested in the political setting. At that time, what happened in Russia seemed so remote and unlikely to ever happen again, certainly not in America. As I watched the movie this week and realized how much our political climate has changed I could not help thinking that this or something similar could happen here. While the characters are fiction, the historical background isn’t.
The first step a totalitarian government takes in controlling the people is to control the press and/or media.
We must understand that ‘truth has no agenda’ and demand the truth from all media sources. We must abandon those sources who will not report honestly and accurately.
