Barack Obama has that difficult to define quality called ‘charisma’. He is younger than most recent presidents and he is our first president to claim African-American ancestry, i.e., the first black president. I believe that these three qualities enabled him to be elected to the highest office in the land when he had no experience and lacked the ability to do the job.
Will Barack Obama go down in history as the President who ‘didn’t have a clue’?
Comments from journalist and colleagues suggest this is likely how history will remember Obama.
On the crisis in Egypt:
“I don’t think they have a clue. I mean, I think it’s very frightening to watch this administration.” Newt Gingrich Feb. 12011
The question most Israelis are asking is why are the Americans behaving so destructively? Why are President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton charting a course that will necessarily lead to the transformation of Egypt into the first Salafist Islamic theocracy? Caroline Glick
It seems that Obama played his cards before the world rather than managing diplomacy quietly behind the scenes. This does not set well with other middle eastern leaders. As Mike Huckabee recently pointed out, perhaps Obama should have spoken to Mubarak privately, not publicly:
“But I think it would have been an important symbol to send to the rest of the world, that we don’t just walk away from long-standing allies.”
On the economy:
Barack Obama doesn’t understand basic economics. And because he doesn’t understand the economy, he cannot be trusted to “fix” it. You can’t fix something you do not remotely understand. He misunderstood the problem so he prescribed the wrong medicine. George Landrith – Frontiers of Freedom Institute
“The president wanted to lower unemployment but didn’t see a way to get more money out of Congress,” one adviser who sat in on many such meetings told me. “He grew frustrated because the economic team didn’t have that magic combination.” Or as another adviser put it, “He was really frustrated that there weren’t solutions on the cheap.” Peter Baker
Voters elected an inexperienced, untested man as President of the United States. Since Obama’s inauguration (January, ‘09) he has exhibited severe narcissistic tendencies, accomplished little, and shown an alarming propensity for wild spending to appease his liberal/radical base. Essentially he is clueless about the economy. He does not grasp the job creating opportunities afforded by free market capitalism. Conversely, he espouses programs which are anti-business and job killers… The Collins Report, Walter Olsen
We need to get behind this [green] innovation. And to help pay for it, I’m asking Congress to eliminate the billions in taxpayer dollars we currently give to oil companies. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but they’re doing just fine on their own. So instead of subsidizing yesterday’s energy, let’s invest in tomorrow’s. Barack Obama
By penalizing Oil Companies it is suggested:
“The administration seems poised to stifle one of the best ways to create jobs,” said Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute, citing potential job growth in new petroleum exploration.
And on producing clean energy:
Truth – Obama’s claims are not credible. Top energy officials for the Chamber say White House’s target of getting 80 percent of the nation’s electricity from “clean” sources by 2035 is unrealistic, and declined to say whether they would support a different target because the political prospects for a clean energy standard (CES) are remote.
On the oil spill:
Clearly Obama misunderstood the magnitude of the spill and overestimated BP’s ability quickly to plug the well…Peter Spiller
“The Obama administration lost some political capital because they acted without thinking things through,” said Andra Gillespie, a political scientist at Emory University.
Obama and race relations have often grabbed headlines and according to Bill Clinton:
After previously suggesting race should play no role in presidential politics, Barack Obama became the first candidate to officially inject race into the presidential campaign during a June 21, 2008 speech which was little more than a shallow attempt to play the race card.
During the first two years of his presidency President Obama spent his time doing one of the three things he does best. When he wasn’t pushing huge spending bills, he was speaking. His speeches were always the same. He blamed George Bush for everything that was going wrong and he campaigned. Newsvine had this to say:
Blaming the other Party when you’re running for office is expected. But if you win, you’re expected to start leading the Nation. Not keep running for office and blaming the other Party for your own failures.
Hopefully voters will realize that we need a person who does have a clue in the White House. The election is less than two years away!
