A resolution to designate February 12, 2011 as Darwin Day was introduced February 9, 2011 by Pete Stark, a democrat from CA. It was called HR 81 submitted to the 112th Congress of the USA. Follow the link given to read the resolution.
The American Humanist support the bill, as do the Anti-Defamation League.
This resolution is the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee.
Let us hope and pray that this will be the case with H.R.81!
