Media Matters – the name indicates that, well, media actually matters. Does it really?
Apparently only if that media outlet agrees with David Brock.
Media Matters bills itself as an organization that:
Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.
Recently, however, they have been accused by Politico of abandoning that goal and declaring war on Fox News.
How true is this accusation made by Politico that Media Matters has launched a war against Fox News?
It is difficult to determine, but a look around their web-site certainly indicates that Media Matters is obsessed with Fox News. Put ‘Fox News’ in the search engine and you will pull up 577 PAGES.
It is encouraging to know that because of our first amendment we are able to watch and listen to Fox News. We are also free to read anything written at Media Matters. Most Americans are able to detect bias and spin. Americans are able to know when a news organization gives both sides of a story or when they are deliberately attempting to influence their audience.
