There is no way around it. If the government shuts down for a few days the blame should rest squarely on the shoulders of the democrats. There is no other place to put the blame.
Here is the logic I use to reach that conclusion.
In 2008, Democrats were elected to a large majority in both houses of Congress and in the executive branch to run the government. They ran us – right into a financial ditch. In 2010, Republicans were elected to cut spending and bring fiscal responsibility back into the picture. That is why they are fighting so hard on this budget issue. Harry Reid and his cronies prefer to shut down the government rather than cut spending projects they hold dear.
(Remember when President Obama said federal money would not be used to fund abortion.) Reid is saying in regards to budget cuts:
“We can’t resolve in a night a disagreement this country’s been fighting for four decades,” Reid said with respect to abortion rights.
If you want fiscal responsibility, notify your elected official that you support them in this fight. Some from both parties are just afraid to make cuts after what happened in Wisconsin. They fear the ‘powers-that-be’ more than they fear the electorate. They were elected to cut spending. We must support them in this.
Be sure and read Gun-slinging Harry. Reid’s own words show the kind of logic Harry uses. Nevada, why did you do this to America??
