WALL OF REMEMBRANCE
In Budapest, Hungary, at the end of WWII many Hungarian Jews were slaughtered by a group of former Nazi’s who belonged to a party called Arrow Cross. The Hungarian Arrow Cross members, cooperating with the German Nazis, butchered and robbed Jews. The members believed that at the last-minute, Hitler would produce a ‘secret weapon’ that would enable the Axis powers to win the war.
The members of Arrow Cross would line the Jews up along the Danube and shoot them into the river in order to avoid the work of burying the bodies later. Victims were made to remove their shoes prior to being shot because of the value of the shoes.
Today there is an Embankment of Remembrance along the Danube River in Hungary. Gyula Pauer, a Hungarian sculptor, came up with the idea of remembering the victims by placing iron shoes along the river’s bank as a Memorial.

Actually the Arrow Cross were Hungarians, not German nazis. Most of them were executed after the war.

Wow, i’ve just been to Budapest and I didn’t notice that memorial, even though I actually walked along the Danube a lot.

much more than that- instead of fulfilling order to pack jews inside trains toward east- arrow cross through naked their bodies to Danube followed by a flock of pyrana preditor fishes who were served couple of days later in luxurious restaurant on quay of the affair served with hungarian tokai and best mosel winesto adolf eichman and his stuff who congretulate the local cooks for delicious taste served on madiar emblemed traditional ceramic dishes- but there was one side-effect- the fishes were too fat and oily- so cooks had to grill them inorder keep the enjoyers to remain slimm- i regard this a universal signal and realate to it as to any sardism-sarcasm within sadism-toward the sentenced to be cursed for cain sined to be less or even zerofied regarded – and as such all bearing prejudice unwanted all over the world, including me and many like me, now ourselves arround age 60, establishing no family in aftermath of our parents grinded here by state diabolic psichiatric machinery, or others to abandon or be abandoned by families- we are all,wherever uinwanted, non desired, strange,or even accepted under tyranic domination of any expert establishment to implement savage despotism- we are all naked jews-at least our mind, our brains will be cuted and selled for establishing one more luxurious villa for the sake of science, progress and good apetite! j’ accuse !

God is who He is. Since there is only one God, we can’t just go out and find another. I may have said the Jews are God’s favorite, but I should have and thought that I did say they are the chosen people of God. There are times when God is very displeased with all races, including the Jewish race.

To Rife Kimler, What exactly are you saying? It takes hatred to line people up and kill them. Maybe you do not understand that I am not writing about this because I favor it, but rather because I want the world to realize how hatred of the Jewish people resulted in this senseless killing. In Memory Of My Father For His Humanity And Courage Dr. Sandor Ujvary 1904 1988 For this reason man was created alone; To teach that whosoever destroys a single soul, It is as though he has destroyed an entire world. And whosoever preserves a single soul, It is as though he had preserved an entire world… Jerusalem Talmud Sanhedrin 23a-b During the summer and fall of 1942, my father rescued and hid Jews in Nazi Germany, until he was captured, tortured, interrogated and sent to Auschwitz. Fortunately the boards of the cattle car he was in were easy to pry up and he was able to make his escape by climbing under the undercarriage and jumping from the moving train, but not before he shattered his right hip and knee cap. In January 1944, he turned up in Sweden and joined the international Red Cross. By October he found himself in Budapest Hungary with Raoul Wallenberg (sixty-four years ago this month) rescuing and hiding Jews and Gypsies from certain death (9,000 men and woman and over 8,000 children) by the vicious Arrow Cross pro-Nazi militia. The Arrow Cross had slaughtered over 90,000 humans on the banks of the Danube from October to December alone. I could go on and on but because of limited space, I will just enclose this letter from Yad Vashem where my father is recognized as The Righteous Among The Nations. Ujvary served as head of the section responsible for saving Jews. He also arranged for the coordination of rescue activities with parallel institutions of the legations of the neutral countries, and served as liaison with those in the Arrow Cross who were in charge of carrying out the government’s anti-Jewish policies. Thanks to Ujvary’s strength of character, and because of his pivotal positions in the hierarchy of the Red Cross, Ujvary was able to save the lives of thousands of Jewish men, women and children during the Arrow Cross period, from October 1944 until the liberation of Budapest, in February 1945. Ujvary provided letters of protection to hundreds of Jews who had been sent to the Austrian border on death marches. These letters, issued by the Red Cross or the Vatican, allowed the Jews who held them to avoid being transferred to the German Reich. Ujvdry also managed to have many hundreds of Jews released from an bbuda brickyard, where they were concentrated prior to deportation. Thanks to Ujvary’s bold intervention, a group of Jews from Department T, a transport division of the International Red Cross, was saved from expulsion to the German Reich. Together with his staff, Ujvfiry kept Arrow Cross gangs from entering Red Cross protected houses and Jewish children’s residences. By bravely standing up to the Arrow Cross, Ujvary kept these Jews from being transferred to the closed ghetto. Angelo Rotta*, the Apostolic Nuncio, or Vatican representative in the city, was witness to Ujvary’s bravery. Rotta gave Ujvary his blessing, and pardoned him for all the forgeries and illegal activities he participated in for the sake of saving Jewish lives, saying that Ujvary was acting according to the will of God. Hans Weyermann, a representative of the International Red Cross stationed in Budapest during the Arrow Cross period, was another witness to Ujvary’s actions. Weyermann confirmed that Ujvary acted heroically at risk to his own life, saving thousands of Jewish individuals, including many children. Thanks to the testimony of Weyermann and others, lljvary received the Medal of Honor from the International Red Cross. After the war, Ujvdry left Hungary and settled in Munich. Although his survivors didn’t know the name of their rescuer and never met him personally, many articles and books were written about him, perpetuating his name and commemorating his heroism in the face of mortal danger. On October 10, 1985, Yad Vashem recognized Alexander Sondor Ujvary as Righteous Among the Nations. First published in The First Edition

I have been working with Elderly Jews all my life in Australia(Sydney and now in Melbourne) and it is traumatic to witness the suffering of holocaust survivors.They are haunted by their past.I was shown by one of our collegues the rememberance@Danube River -Shoes.It is really painful!My heart goes out to all Jewish sufferers.

A modern memorial to the fallen. Can we have 700,000 more pairs to remember the Palestinian people that were murdered in the Ethnic Cleansing of 1948 by the Jews to ‘create’ the state of Israel.

There was a war between the Arabs and Jews, but certainly no 700,000 Arabs killed. There were acts of terror, but on both sides.

The Palestinians were offered partition , but their leaders refused. Many of them had been pro-Nazi. Such as the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

Why is it that if the Jews are God’s chosen people did he promise them the only piece of land in the middle east that has no oil? Some real estate broker eh?

Fred, God will answer for Himself. God isn’t in the real estate broker business. He owns all real estate and the cattle on a thousand hills. We are here a short time to manage his estate, and we bring nothing into this world and take nothing out of it. But, I know what you are suggesting. Why doesn’t the present day nation of Israel have oil? Right? I do not know that it doesn’t and I do not think that the present occupied land is all that God promised Abraham’s descendants.
Numbers chapter 34 gives borders that some believe will, also, someday be restored to Hebrews or Israelis.
There are many people who have studied this more than I have and who could probably give a more enlightened answer. I just know that God’s word will be fulfilled.
