Statistics are deceiving, but it seems to me that the fact that these two statistics show dramatic increases are meaningful and should be noted. Limousine usage has increased by 73% during the first two years of the Obama administration. The Food Stamp Program cost has risen 39 percent since Obama took office.
I find this very unsettling. In a free Republic, neither of these statistics should increase. Both should decrease under a good president and Congress.
My greatest angst with the Obama presidency is what I see as his unethical plan for re-election. Rather than providing new job opportunities, Obama’s administration is offering more welfare relief. As he increases the number of welfare recipients, he is buying new voters, not considering that when a person succumbs to a life as a welfare recipient they are losing dignity and independence. His desire for their vote is placed above the welfare of the person.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, just recently denounced Republicans with an accusation that they believe illegal immigration “should in fact be a crime.”
Why would the chairwoman of the party make such a remark? There can be only one reason. This administration is seeking votes of Hispanics.
Hopefully the Hispanics who come here legally to live and work will not be swayed by these tactics. They probably know that:
Mexico’s constitution and its General Population Act – its main law addressing immigration – include some of the very elements that protesters in the United States are fighting to defeat before they become law in this country. Those include provisions that make it a felony to be an illegal immigrant and allow for local police to aid immigration authorities in making arrests.
Rather than take on the illegal immigration situation that is facing our nation, Obama uses the situation for his own political gain, never stopping to consider how our country may be adversely affected.
When I watch Barrack Obama I do not see a man who thinks of country first. I am not sure that Obama even cares about the vote of the hard working middle class American. Perhaps he thinks he won’t need it.
