Sandy Goodman tells what he believes – What do you believe?

Do you believe the government is more reliable than the marketplace?

Do you believe that it isn’t Obama whose stimulus package has failed to create jobs or get the economy back on track, but it all goes back to Bush?

Do you believe that Barack Obama does not want to transform America?

Do you believe that the real problem in American is the  failure of the American people to trust the government? Do you believe that if we all just trusted the federal government more and gave the feds more control over our lives, things would get better?

Do you believe that social security has been a better investment plan for Americans than the 401K plan?

Do you believe that Bill Clinton and all foreign policy makers leading up to 2001 had nothing to do with our vulnerability and the attacks on 9-11? Do you believe that George Bush, who had been in office for one year when the attacks occurred, is solely responsible?

Do you believe that Barack Obama, and/or a Democratic congress, has no responsibility for this economy or the failure of economic recovery?

Do you believe that George Bush is the person who increased the national debt by trillions of dollars since 2006 even though the debt has soared since 2008 and Congress has been controlled by Democrats since 2006?

Do you believe Republicans kept Democrats from succeeding from 2008 until 2010 when Democrats controlled both houses and the White House?

Do you believe that it isn’t the Democrats, liberals, or those on the left who have been attempting to end talk radio and curtail what a person is able to read on the internet?

Do you believe that Republicans do not want first amendment rights in this country for all citizens?

Do you believe that all who vote Republican are rich and have never had to work for what they have? Do you believe that no Democrat politicians are wealthy or care about wealth? Do you believe all Democrats are interested in is making someone else wealthy and it is the evil Republicans who want the wealth only for themselves?

Listed above are some of the things you have to believe if you are going to believe what Sandy Goodman says in a recent oped called Republicans: The Single Greatest Threat to America. When you think about it, these are the things a person has to believe in order to cast a vote for Barack Obama in 2012.

The single greatest threat to the United States is not joblessness, foreclosures, another recession or skyrocketing debt or health care costs. Nor is it terrorism, China or declining influence abroad. No, the single greatest threat to our country is today’s Republican Party.

What do you believe?

Sandy Goodman is right. Thanks for posting this even if you probably don’t agree with it.

I do disagree with it. If I could have invested all the money put into social security into a 401K years ago, I would be a rich Republican. 🙂 Also, I just think it is ridiculous and irresponsible for anyone to make some of the statements Goodman made. China and terrorist are less of a threat than Republicans??? That is just wrong and promotes ill-will and hatred among Americans.

That all Republicans are rich is propaganda.

Goodman isn’t being honest. A big part of the housing crisis was caused by bankers being forced to make home loans to people who could not afford the loans. Bush actually warned that this would lead to disaster, but he wasn’t heard.

Goodman took remarks out of context and he talks about banks seizing property which they only do when a loan is not paid, but doesn’t mention that government now seizes private property in this country and a private citizen has zero control when that happens.

It is a very biased oped that will only serve to further divide our country, in my opinion.

The reason some people may think Goodman is right, they may have bought much of the propaganda that is being put out by ‘main stream’ media.

Hi, I don’t agree with the phrasing of this. Of course neither Bill nor George Bush had anything to do with the planning of nine-eleven. But they both failed to get Bin Laden.

It was worded in response to Goodmans:

George W. Bush’s presidency, with Congressional Republicans in lockstep behind him,…failure to prevent the worst terrorist attack on the homeland or punish its instigators…

Assuming that Goodman’s remark has some merit, a person then must decide, “Is Bush the only administration that failed in protecting us or preventing the attack”?

It could have been worded better though.
