Governor Rick Perry Attends Prayer Event

Rick Perry hasn’t announced his candidacy, but rumor has it that he may run for president. He is making headlines by attending a Christian prayer event in TX. While thousands support Governor Perry and are also attending, there are a handful of protestors outside Reliant Stadium. Some are calling for his resignation.

Many men and women today try hard to be politically correct. Some go to such an extreme that they hide who they really are. Some people do not know that the constitution does not actually say that church and state must be separate. Others, like Rick Perry, believe the first amendment give even politicians the right to worship as they please.

    I think as long as they’re not using tax-payer dollars to support it, political leaders have the same rights to freedom of religion as everyone else. They shouldn’t be expected to suspend that right to hold political office. And if people disagree with their beliefs, then they have the choice not to vote for them… That’s how democracy works.
