The Bible tells us that in the last days, perilous times will come:
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, … from such turn away. 2 Timothy 3:2-5
I heard a Cuban immigrant pose a question in 1968. He said, “When you begin to wonder if America is a great place, ask yourself, ‘Which way is the traffic flowing?’ Are people risking their lives to get into this country or are they risking theirs live to get out?”
I think we all know the answer.
Since I witnessed the Youtube video of retired school teacher and militant gay-rights activist Roger Fraser, I have thought of it often and I feel depressed when I think about it. Usually, if I cover something in a blog post, I forget it soon after.
Not this time.
Have we become a nation of people who are unthankful.
America has much to offer citizens.
We are a nation of people who have gone from a depression era to an era of wealth. With this wealth we have become a nation that gives foreign aid even to other wealthy
America is a beautiful country with approximately 400 national parks and recreation areas for families.
In America, if a person is slightly disabled, he or she draws disability, sometimes for a lifetime. By law, a disabled person is blessed with conveniences when shopping or visiting.
Citizens of the USA are guaranteed medical treatment if they go into an ER anywhere in the nation. Seniors are given discounts almost everywhere they go.
In the USA, citizens join clubs such as the LYONS Club and purchase glasses for children who may be vision impaired.
Every city has a mission where meals are served without question to those who are hungry.
Laws require that children not be used for labor and that compensation is paid to all workers who are unemployed.
Grants and loans are available to any student who wishes to attain a degree.
Government housing allows families of low-income to have apartments and housing.
Every year, from America, teams of Doctors and nurses volunteer to go into third world countries to care for the sick and needy. They do this at their own expense and without compensation other than a blessing from the Lord.
America gives foreign aid to countries that need aid and sometimes to countries that do not. Sometimes the aid is given to depressed areas in America.

Would it not be great if we and every person in OWS bowed our heads and hearts today and gave thanks to God for being privileged to live in this wonderful country? Those occupying could then return home to accept their civic responsibility to work within the framework of our constitution to correct the flaws they perceive in the system?
