Living Water

Today we are grieving the passing of my brother-in-law, Ray. He left Earth to be with the Lord last night. We will miss Ray’s sweet smile and kind heart, but he has been re-united with his two daughters who passed away recently.

Ray had partaken of the Living Water.

In today’s Daily Bread,  Dave Branon wrote a wonderful devotion called “Looking For Water”. I hope everyone will take time to read this short devotional.

Every day thousands step into eternity. For those who do so today, it won’t matter who is president of the USA or who will be elected in 2012. It won’t matter who serves in Congress. Whether or not we received a minimum or maximum wage will be irrelevant. Having been a participant of a Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street will not help us at all when we step out of time and into eternity.

What will be important will be whether or not we know the man who offers us Living Water.

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?…Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:10-14
