Saying goodbye is never easy and no one was ready to say goodbye to Raybon Johnson.
Ray would have been pleased to know how many people came to pay their respects and say their final goodbyes on November 5, 2011. He left a wife and sons with broken hearts and everyone with an empty spot in our hearts. He will be missed.
If Ray could have been present, he would have smiled at one incident. His youngest little granddaughter gave everyone a moment of fun at the evening meal when she saw the pastor of Ray’s church, who had been with the family all day, and she announced, “Well, I guess that man is just going to follow us everywhere we go today.”
Ray loved Demaris, he loved his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. He loved his country and he loved Sarge, his little dog. He loved UA and had taught Sarge to roll over whenever he heard the words, “Roll Tide”.
Ray, we all love you and miss you, but we know that you are now at home in heaven!
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ… Philemon 3:20
