To whom will you listen?

Everyone Listens to Someone

How many times did your parents or a teacher ask or tell you to ‘listen’ when you were growing-up? As Christians, we must be very careful. There are voices all around us, but we must not listen to every voice.

God has spoken to us concerning His Son…

“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matthew 17:5

But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. Hebrews :2

The Opposition

Satan attacks everything good on planet earth. He is a deceiver who peddles deception. He attacks right ideas. He attacks institutions that help mankind and supports institutions that harm us. Wherever there are those who stand for Christ, Satan will be there to oppose them.

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD (YHWH), and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.  Zechariah 3:1

When Satan attacks, he uses people to carry his message. He is the father of lies, so we must be attentive to the voices around us.

Satan attacks those who follow Jesus.

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. Luke 22:31

Satan attempts to prevent those who trust God from receiving assistance.

Satan attacks families causing children to be raised in situations that may damage them for life.

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. Mark 9:42

Satan attacks men and women who are spreading the gospel and attempts to silence them.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Satan attacks laws and documents that have protected people, seeking to get them nullified and replaced with his ideas that lead to death.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. Romans 8:6-7

Satan attacks ministers and missionaries who spread the gospel.

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 2 Corinthians 12:7

Satan attacks churches in attempts to plant a counterfeit Christian in every congregation.

Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” John 6:70

Satan attacks businesses and corporations that offer financial security to their employees with programs such as 401Ks by stirring up envy and attempting to thwart God’s power.

And you shall remember (YHWH) the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deut. 8:18

Satan attacks governments that are founded on Christian principles and does his best to weaken the foundation and change the system because he fears a government controlled by the Lord God and His rule.

Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Psalms 67:4

Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of (YHWH) the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7

Satan attacks nations, attempting to work through the leaders, he seeks to accomplish his evil intent.

Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1

Satan attacks individuals tempting each to despair of life.

And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. Mark 4:15

Satan even attacked Jesus, Himself, attempting to turn Him away from His mission.

But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23

And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, Mark 1:13

Who is Satan?

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44

God Is Our Defender

Then he (Angel of the Lord) said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

And we know that our Lord has already won the victory and that His own will be delivered.

‘I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, ‘to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light (Christ), and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’  Acts 26:17-18

And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Romans 16:20
