What One Person Can Do!

News and commentary causes stress in today’s world. Bad news surrounds us. Politicians tell how bad everyone else is, but describe themselves in glowing terms. Truth seems to be a thing of the past in just about every area of politics. Our nation appears to be swirling in a sea of debt, degradation, and desire to win at any cost. It can be disheartening, to say the least.

If I write truth here everyday, it isn’t even a drop in the bucket compared to what is going out over the airways and it feels as if it doesn’t change anything. How does one person make it better?

There is one way and one thing that I can do. You can do the same thing and it is definitely going to help! We can pray to a God who is able to make a difference! God has even told us how to pray!

Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Matthew 9:38

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you… Matthew 5:44

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. Matthew 6:7

Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Matthew 13:33

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing…! Thessalonians 5:16-17

He also helps us pray.

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26

Wise people seek our prayers:

Then the king answered and said to the man of God, “Please entreat the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me…” 1 Kings 13:6

What can one person do? The most powerful thing there is in this life. One person can pray!
