Marriage and Our World Today

Do you know who said that God established three essential institutions: marriage, the ministry of the Word, and the state?

Do you know who said: “Marriage belongs to God’s created order. From the beginning, the Creator made them, male and female. Before the Bible, before the law of Moses, before Abraham, before the Church, before the state, marriage was a part of God’s created order.”

It was Martin Luther and Michael Youssef, in that order.

Today my husband and I celebrate 49 years of marriage. He has been and is a wonderful husband and a fine man. I thank God for him and for the 49 years he has given us.

On a different note, do you know when this happened, who the people are, and where it happened?

The ________people are facing extermination as their own government pounds them with…bombers, tanks, and ground forces. Entire villages are being destroyed, and nearly everywhere you turn there are hastily dug graves.

The government of __________ has barred relief workers and journalists from entering __________, and our only way in was a rutted dirt trail, really no more than an animal path covered with….dust. Our vehicles were coated with mud to make them less visible to the ever-present bombers.

I would like to think this happened years ago and that today these people are thriving, but not so.

Dried insects eaten by those who are starving.

The time is the present, the people are the Nuba people and the country is Sudan. The person going into help these starving people, who are eating dried insects to ward off starvation, is Franklin Graham with Samaritans Purse.

Periodically I try to bring these two ministries not just to your attention, but to my own. Here are great mission fields where we can all aid in the work.

And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:40
