Prayer for Truth to Prevail in Presidential Election

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

Sometimes it is difficult to know who is telling the truth and who is lying in campaign ads and campaign speeches. There is One, however, who does know.

Will you please join me in praying that the lies told in this campaign will be turned against the candidate who attempts to use lies to win the presidency and that dirty tricks will only harm the trickster? Please help me pray that the candidate who is willing to take the high road and (and let us hope that one of these men will do so) will be the victor in November.

It disturbs me when a web-site giving people an opportunity to volunteer to help a candidate is suddenly flagged as ‘dangerous’ to your PC or a person’s personal life is turned up-side-down because he or she has attempted to help a candidate run for office.

It is disturbing to learn that any good a candidate has done is twisted and presented to the American people as something sinister by an opponent desperate to win an election at any cost.

In these instances, please join me in praying Isaiah 54:17 for the innocent party. No person can prosper unless the Lord prospers that person. I am asking that God will prosper those who honor Him and fight against those who dishonor His commandments and his Word.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy… Psalms 33:18

While Matthew 10:26 is a comforting scripture in many ways, we must read it in context and consider what it may mean for Christians in America at this time:

23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

27 Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

I know that those who are lying, cheating, and deceiving many will eventually be brought down, but I do not know when the Lord plans to do this or what He has in mind for us at this time in our nation’s history. Surely we can take comfort in knowing that He is watching over those who belong to Him.
