Let God be true….

Two examples of the truth of God’s word are found in the Gideon International’s, Prayer Opens Doors, Aug.- Sept. 2013 issues.

The two promises have to do with the following verse and with the fulfillment of the words of a true prophet of God.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void,  but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Ron Needham from Hawaii shares the story of a couple who lived in Hiroshima, Japan when the atomic bomb was dropped in 1945. The couple was Buddhists and suffered for years from the effects of radiation from the bomb.  During the aftermath of the war, however, a young American serviceman had given the woman a New Testament he had received from a Gideon. The testament was still among a family member’s possessions as the woman lay dying in Hawaii many years later and was used by the couple’s child to lead both parents to Christ.

Other stories of how the word does not return void may be found at The Gideon’s International Blog.
