Global Warming Just Isn’t Happening: Official If something isn’t happening, I guess that does make it easy for a person who is working to prevent it from happening to be optimistic and if you are Al Gore, who invented the internet, naturally he is going to think his influence stopped it.
After all, Gore had positive proof, didn’t he?
Al Gore says:
“We are seeing dramatic progress towards new policies in China, Korea, Ireland…A second factor is the sharp and unexpectedly steep decrease in prices for electricity produced from wind and solar and the demand destruction for fossil fuel energy from new efficiency improvements.”
He hasn’t exactly taken full credit yet, but I believe he is headed in that direction. He really hasn’t acknowledged that global warming isn’t occurring quite yet, but in time, I believe that he will. At that time, he will also announce how government actions saved us all.
Who can blame him. The slow-down or reversal of the warming trend presents Al Gore with only two options. The first is to admit he was full of baloney to begin with and just plain wrong. The second is to take credit for the new trend.
Meanwhile we read that some scientists say they do not know why global warming isn’t occurring and others say this cooling trend (unlike the warming trend) is a natural phenomenon unaffected by man or Gore:
Scientists are struggling to explain a slowdown in climate change that has exposed gaps in their understanding and defies a rise in global greenhouse gas emissions.
The IPCC report attributes this hiatus to short-term factors that result in temporary cooling periods, including volcanoes, solar cycles, absorbent oceans, non-greenhouse-gas pollutants, and a string of other temporary-yet-powerful natural forces.
I don’t think men would be able to stop global warming if it were indeed occurring as was predicted by Gore in An Inconvenient Truth. What I think is the cooling trend has really been inconvenient for him and others who predicted a warming trend.
