Thanksgiving Activity for the Family

If you are looking for something to do with your family on Thanksgiving Day that will help them to focus on giving thanks to God for all His bountiful blessings you might want to try this.

Make cards with a Bible verse that includes something God has done for us and a suggestion that the person who finds the card stop for a moment and give thanks to God for that blessing. Place the first card in a location where it will be easily spotted.  The card will then direct the person to where another location in the  house where the next card can be found that will have another Bible verse with another blessing.

Use colorful cardstock to print the cards if you have some on hand, but any paper will do.

The activity works similar to a scavenger hunt except there is no one involved other than the participants and the Lord. Each card includes a request that the card be returned to the place where it was found so others may participate.

I place my first card in a bathroom because eventually everyone will go into the bathroom.

A sample of the writing on the cards is shown below although I cannot format it in this program:

And my God shall supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

If you have found this card, stop for just a moment and thank the Lord God for supplying all of your needs. Then look near the TV in the family room for another reason to thank the Lord on this Thanksgiving Day.

Please put the card back after you have read it!!

The last card will read  HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!! at the bottom.

Hope this idea blesses someone.
