Who is the LORD of Hosts?

The Psalmist asked us who is the King of glory?

The answer is that the King of glory is the LORD of hosts:

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 24:10

So who is the LORD of hosts?

He is the One in whose Name David challenged the Philistine giant, Goliath.

He is the One to whom Hannah prayed for a son, Samuel.

He is the God of Israel.

He is the God before whom Elijah stood.

He is the God of Jacob.

He is the One Isaiah saw who was exalted, holy, and who filled the earth with glory.

He is the Creator.

He is the One who divided the seas to allow the Israelites to cross over.

He is the One whose name will be great among the nations.

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6

As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 47:4

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:17-18

The Bible reveals the LORD of Host to be the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the First and the Last, the ONLY God, the one who lived, was dead and behold is alive forevermore. This One holds the keys of hell and of death and is written of in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Observe the rider on the white horse in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ:

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

Jesus Christ is Kings of kings and Lord of lords and He will command the hosts who follow Him.
