“Police Officers will do what they always do…”, was the first half of a sentence made on nationwide TV this morning.
The statement was not made by anyone from “Black Lives Matter.”
It was not made by anyone at “Mall of America.”
No one in Ferguson made the remark.
No one from any of the thousands who protest against police nationwide as reported on MSNBC said this.
The statement came from a black man when asked what he thought police would do today after a sniper shot and killed 5 Dallas police officers and injured 12 during, and because of, the protest in Dallas of the killing of a black man by a police officer.
The complete statement was this, “Police officers will do what they always do. They will go back on the job of protecting the community.”
The spokesman was David Webb and he followed a black Police Officer Clarke, who has every reason to be upset, to go home and let someone else “protect the community.”
It is with great sadness that our nation has learned of the killing of two black men by police officers this week. Here are my thoughts…
I wonder who put the videos up before the investigations were complete?
I wonder why the American public, the community, doesn’t wait until the facts are in to take to the streets. Our present administration seeks justice when a person is killed without reason. We know that Barack Obama speaks in favor of prosecuting any police officer who is found guilty. He has spoken out repeatedly. What is to be gained by not waiting for the system to work?
I wonder what would happen today if every police officer in America just stayed home?
