Three things the Bible teaches about judgement…

One of the most quoted teachings of our Lord is “judge not that you be not judged…” Jesus said this and more more about judging.  Jesus teaches how important our words are.

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak…Matthew 12:36

There are other teachings we shouldn’t miss.

The Bible teaches that everyone’s deeds are judged, but it is  those who trust Christ and receive Him as Savior, who will be accepted by God. These names are recorded…

We find in Revelation that all whose names are not written in The Lambs Book of Life are judged according to what is found in “books that will be opened” (the Bible?). However, only names found written in The Lambs Book of Life  enter heaven. These are going to receive life or have passed from death to eternal life.

John 1:29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God…And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:10, 27

The Bible speaks clearly and definitively on WHO will judge mankind.image

The Mighty One, God the LORD,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to its setting….He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that He may judge His people: Psalm 50:1,4

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

See Matthew 25:31-46

John 5:24

We are not allowed to judge the hearts of men. Yahweh, God Himself will judge in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Only those who have received Christ have their names written in the Lambs Book of Life and pass from death to life.

Our words are important and will play an important role at judgement.
