Final look at Watchtower vs the Holy Bible

Bible 001

Spending time checking out Watchtower claims against the Bible has left me exhausted and a little depressed. There are four very troubling aspects to this sect or religion.

1.) The most troubling problem I see with Watchtower’s teaching is their failure to recognize or acknowledvge the deity and Personhood of the Holy Spirit and Christ. This causes them to miss the blessings of the work of the Holy Spirit and they  fail to understand what the Jews understood i.e., Jesus is God.**

2.) The second most troubling problem with Watchtower is their belief that the Bible has errors and their willingness to add and detract words, trying to make the Holy Scripture fit Watchtower doctrine.

3.) A third problem is their method of teaching salvation.

4.) The fourth problem that is very depressing is their willingness to take conjecture or their own ideas and teach them as truth. One example is their teaching and conjecture  that the “harvest began in 1914” and Watchtower is the “wise and discreet servant” of whom Jesus spoke.

The above problems with Watchtower are very troublesome, especially considering these facts:

A.) Without the Spirit, we cannot know the truth.

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. John 16:12-13  “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17)

B.) If we do not rely on the Holy Spirit, how are we able to please God? He clearly states:

For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

C.) The Spirit allows the redeemed to have assurance of salvation.

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” Romans 8:16

D.) The Holy Spirit grieves. He prays for us, counsels and teaches us.

When they rewrite or translate John 1:1 to say “the word was a god” rather than “the word was God” they fail to explain (at least not on their web-site) what they mean by Christ being “a god.” Their entire religion is built on the idea that there is “one God.” When they say Christ is “a god” are they not placing Christ in the same category as Baal? Worship of anything or anyone other than YHVH is always forbidden, yet nowhere do we find a commandment against or condemnation for worshiping Christ. THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE! A star led the wise men to the place where he lay. They came to WORSHIP Him.* His disciples WORSHIPED Him the night He calmed the storm. The writer of Hebrews wrote:

And again, when He brings the firstborn into the world, He says, Let all God’s angels WORSHIP Him. Hebrews 1:6

Watchtower is exclusive. They would exclude everyone from God’s grace who doesn’t follow the Watchtower doctrine and teaching.

I find that Christ is both inclusive and exclusive. Here is what I mean. Christ includes all who repent of sin and follow Him. Only those who  refuse to repent and trust Christ are excluded.

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. Revelation 22:7

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned

Watchtower excludes those who do not join Watchtower and believe their doctrine. But God excludes:

… whoever does not believe (in Him) is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Luke 13:3

Jesus is Michael the Archangel…

Christ returned in 1914…

If prophecy fails, it can then be called a prediction rather than prophecy…

Everyone doesn’t have to be born again, just the 144,000 who will enjoy heaven…

The only name that honors God is Jehovah and true Christians will use that name only…

Service to God is going door to door and distributing Watchtower and inviting people to meetings…

People will be misled if they read the Bible without a Jehovah’s Witness explaining to them what they have read…

Please pray for Jehovah’s Witnesses that they might see and receive the truth.

**The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”

*saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
