Comparing Tenet 22 of Watchtower to the Holy Bible – Should Christians vote or run for office?

Tenet 22 – Christians should not vote in elections, hold political office, become involved in political affairs in any other way, salute a flag, or serve in the military even in noncombatant roles.



Why would we be commanded to pray for or honor these people if they are sinning by holding political offices? If every person belonged to Watchtower Organization, who would hold government positions?

2 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
