How important is the seventh “I Am” statement?

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BRANCHES YOU TRIM FROM YOUR TREES AND SHRUBS?

Worshiping With Children: Year B - The Fifth Sunday of Easter (May 6 ...Branches cut from the vine die.

If we are branches and Christ is the vine, what happens to us when we are not in Christ? It is pretty clear, isn’t it? We die. This is the point of the first part of Jesus statement.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO REMAIN IN CHRIST?

Many people go to seminars, see psychologists, read self-help books, and spend a lot of time attempting to be productive. Christ tells us in one sentence how to produce what truly matters in this life. Christians who remain in Christ bear much fruit and will live productive lives.

IS OURS THE BUSIEST GENERATION TO EVER LIVE ON EARTH?

Parenting, "The Daddy Juggle," Special Needs Children, & Social Skills“… Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

We truly need to heed the last phrase of these important words of Jesus: “apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Jesus never misspoke and every word that proceeded from His mouth is truth. So while we may feel as if we are doing something, if Christ is not the One leading and directing our actions, we are not accomplishing anything lasting. Anyone can be busy, but only those abiding in Christ can actually have useful, lasting accomplishments.

SO, HOW IMPORTANT IS THE LAST “I AM” STATEMENT?

It is of utmost importance if one would live an earthly life that accomplishes things that matter for eternity.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of a righteous person is a tree of life, and a winner of souls is wise.
