This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Psalm 19:2

The Bible was written and Christ came that we might know the only true God. From Genesis to the book called “Revelation” the Bible is a book 📚 that reveals. It reveals the important things of life we need to know, but the primary purpose is to reveal YHWH or the Almighty, whom the Jews called Most High God. We can know God and know He is real.

Galatians 4:8 tells us there were people who did not know God prior to Christ coming:

However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are no gods.

This was never God’s plan. In the garden He walked and talked with Adam and Eve. After the fall, He made Himself known. Genesis 6:13 tells us that God spoke to Noah. We know He spoke in a way that erased doubt because Noah spent 120 years building the ark. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS suggest Noah believed God and KNEW God.

Abraham and his sons knew and believed God. The prophets knew and believed. The Psalmist knew. God spoke through the prophets prior to the coming of Messiah. Today He speaks through His Son.  (Hebrews 1:1-2)

Many verses tell us we can know.

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding…Colossians 1:9

…that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself…Colossians 2:2

Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength.

Knowing God

Not only can we know, we can live forever in His kingdom. Numerous verses tell us that God will reign as King forever.

The LORD sat as King at the flood; Yes, the LORD sits as King forever. Psalm 29:10

…for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. 2 Peter 1:11

God, in His great love, sent His only Son that we might live forever. He is revealed through His written word, the Bible, and the Living Word, Jesus Christ Messiah.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.”

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of life drink freely. Revelation 22
